BELT GRADUATION SYSTEM:

1 * For the time being, graduation tests will only be applied to black-belt, Instructor.
For the remaining belts to move up, it will be required only the Instructor's signature on the affiliation card and a minimum grace period. In the future, the graduation for black-belt and brown-belt athletes will require graduation tests as well.

2 * Graduation for teens and pre-teens will be done according the Instructor's own rules. For adults graduation the Instructor will be required to follow the rules established by the Federation.

3 * The Federation establishes a dead line for all athletes to have their registration done in the respective belts. After the registration, there will be a required grace period for the athlete to move to the next level.
* From Blue-Belt to Purple-Belt - 2 years from the registration date as a Blue-belt.
* From Purple-Belt to Brown-Belt - 1 1/2 years, from the registration date as a Purple-Belt.
* From Brown-Belt to Black-Belt - 1 1/2 years, from the registration date as a Brown-Belt.
* this grace period is for athletes training an average of 4 - 5 days per week!!

4 * The time frame to graduate the athlete will be at the Instructor's discretion, as long as the minimum grace period has elapsed.
For instance, the Blue-Belt athlete may be kept in that level for 4 years or more, if the Instructor feels the athlete is not ready to become a Purple-Belt. On the other hand, even if the athlete has mastered the skills of the Blue-Belt, he cannot become a Purple-Belt, until the 2 year grace period has elapsed.
Exception: If the athlete, at the time of registration, has already fulfilled the grace period, without being graduated by the Instructor, he will be granted immediate graduation. This exception will be in effect until December 2005.
For instance if a purple-belt athlete has already remained on that level for a year and a half, he will be able to register, in 2005, to the brown-belt with his instructors approval. After the registration as a brown-belt, the following steps will be followed, according to the grace periods for each level of graduation.

5 * From December 2005 on, all the graduation rules have to be followed, no exceptions applied. It's very important that all athletes take care of their registration until the end of December 2005, so everybody will be able to have accurate records, showing their time of permanence on each level. Athletes belonging to any level that are not registered during the current year will be required to perform the necessary tests to achieve the desired level.

In case that the athletes of said belts - blue, purple, brown and black do not register this year inside of the stated period, when they do register themselves in the next years, they will have to be given a belt examination for said belt.
