Regulations:
1.
Must have a Black Belt in BJJ teaching that is recognized by the
state board.
2. In the case of a program run by purple or brown belt that
program must
be under the continuing guidance of a legitimate Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu
Black Belt.
3. Schools must be a part of the North Carolina Brazilian Jiu
Jitsu Federation Inc..
4. Schools must operate in an ethical and professional
manner.
5. Black belts recognized by the federation must have
received their black belts
from a black belt with at least 3 degrees.
6. School instructor must have valid CPR certification.
* It
is important to be aware that unfortunately there exists instructors
who have a belt rank that does not reflect their actual training. It
is not uncommon for a person to receive a blue belt after attending
a few seminars and immediately begin teaching the public. More
recently many individuals are promoting themselves further to
purple, brown or even black. Unfortunately, it is difficult for the
untrained public to make the distinction between these frauds and
real qualified trained instructors. It then becomes imperative to
research instructors credentials, claims, certifications and
associations. In addition, it is important to remember that in
Brazilian Jiu Jitsu only a black belt can award rank and that you
can only receive a black belt from a third degree black belt or
higher .

Schools
Ranking System **NCBJJF does not
endorse classes taught by a blue belt because the blue belt
ranking is considered entry level. Those would be considered
Clubs. There are many schools available with
purple, brown and black belt instruction, contact the the NCBJJF
to find one in your area.**
